They say the Canary Islands have the best climate in the world – in sun-blessed Valle Gran Rey you can feel it for yourself every day.
Spectacular hikes through Garajonay National Park and Valle Gran Rey.
Volcanic beaches with crystal-clear water and impressive cliffs.
Ancient laurel forests, endemic plants and a landscape straight out of a picture book.
A mild climate all year – soak up the sun in winter, rarely oppressive in summer.
…and since then this impressive, unspoilt and beautiful island has never let us go. These days we spend more and more time on La Gomera and feel truly at home here.
Life on La Gomera is simple, relaxed and mostly lived outdoors. With lots of useful tips we would like to help you, so that even planning your holiday is fun.
Anyone looking for a holiday home on La Gomera usually means private accommodation without a hotel operation: your own entrance, your own kitchen, your own terrace. That is exactly what our two apartments in a detached house offer – you stay in comfort, right in the middle of the valley.
For a holiday with hiking, beaches and peace and quiet, Valle Gran Rey in the south-west is the best choice. It has plenty of sunshine, beaches and sea, direct access to hiking trails and still all the infrastructure you need. If you prefer a town, stay in San Sebastián; if you are looking for seclusion, head to the north near Vallehermoso or Hermigua.
You can visit La Gomera all year round. The island lies in the trade winds, so great heat is rare – although the odd very hot day does occur in summer. Even in the European winter Valle Gran Rey is mild and sunny, and nothing stops you from taking a dip in the sea. The south and west are much drier than the cloudier north. We have described the best time to visit La Gomera in more detail here.
The biggest fixed cost is getting here: a flight to Tenerife South, the transfer to the port of Los Cristianos, the ferry to San Sebastián and the drive to Valle Gran Rey – eight to eleven hours in total, depending on how long you wait for the ferry. Once you are here, La Gomera is inexpensive: you cook for yourself in your own kitchen, distances are short, and in the valley you do not necessarily need a hire car. The nightly rate varies mainly with the season; the current rates are shown in the availability calendar.
Yes. Both apartments have free fibre-optic Wi-Fi – fast enough for work, not just for checking emails.
Tosca Uno has a desk in the bedroom and Tosca Dos has two workspaces on the gallery.
You can also work in a relaxed way on the terrace. Ideal if you are staying longer or working on the move.
Only to a limited extent. The property is on a slope and is not safe enough for young children. We therefore only rent to families with children aged twelve and over. Both apartments are well suited to couples, solo travellers and small groups of up to three people.
Yes, at both apartments. Tosca Uno has a covered veranda and a sun terrace, Tosca Dos a terrace of eighty square metres with an open and a covered area. From both you look down the valley to the Atlantic – sea views from breakfast to dinner.
